e-ticketing goes live at Heathrow Express.

On 31st May, Heathrow Express introduced the new e-ticketing platform, developed by RE:SYSTEMS. This new system sends a bar code to the customer's mobile phone or via email, eliminating the need to pick up tickets from machines on the station platforms and making travel easier for hundreds of passengers.

The move to upgrade to the true ticketless solution was driven by both consumer and trade demand. The project included the installation of WIFI connections on the train to enable the reading of barcodes in real time, and has been successfully delivered in just 3 months. RE:SYSTEMS has provided ticketing systems to Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted Express for several years and is delighted to play such an integral part in this latest technology breakthrough.
